GrateFULL4 – Week Ending 08/12/2017
I am so GrateFULL4 for the opportunity to write another weekly post about gratitude. Today is a day that I’ve never seen and will never see again! That is indeed something to be GrateFULL4. I pray that my posts bless you and move you to participate in journaling about gratitude as well.
Each week, I’m constantly amazed at how blessed I am and how much I have to be GrateFULL4. I can’t tell you how many times I am brought to tears because I know I’m so not worthy, yet my Heavenly Father continues to bless me in spite of my sinful self.
Hello, beautiful ones! I pray that you’re doing exceedingly well!
God’s grace & mercy has blessed me so greatly. I can’t help but have an attitude of gratitude for all that He’s done, all that He’s doing, and what He’s going to do! Trust me when I tell you that HE IS FAITHFUL and that He will give you the desires of your heart if you avail yourself of Him.
So, what is gratefulness? For me, it means to give thanks for every good, and sometimes bad, thing or experience that I have received. So often we are blessed out of the blue due to someone’s kind regard for us. Other times we’ve put some work in on the back side and never expected a blessing, but because of God’s love for us, He blesses us anyway.
We can go days, weeks & months at times taking things for granted, and will only say ‘thank you’ when we realize God saved us from something bad. I don’t want that to be me. Hence, GrateFULL4 is my way of staying ever present of the good and the bad that occurs in my life. I pray that you’ll join me weekly to not only read GrateFULL4 but also to chronicle your gratefulness in some way.
With that said, I know things can get crazy so if you missed last week’s GrateFULL 4 don’t fret; here it is for your reading pleasure :)
This week I’m GrateFULL4:
- The opportunity to eat out from time to time! As a young girl, my mom didn’t have the resources to take us out to eat often. She cooked hearty meals regularly, but I never got the chance to experience different foods unless we were attending a Kingdom Hall event. I was more than thankful for the meals she prepared, but I do wish we would have had the chance to go out from time to time to try different foods & learn about other cultures together. Today I’m able to try so many different foods, at cool restaurants, & dive into other cultures. One of my favorite places to eat is Busboys & Poets. They have several locations in DC, MD, & VA, so I’m never too far from getting a ‘fix.’ If you’ve never eaten at Busboys & Poets, check them out and make sure you try the Coconut Tofu Bites. I’m so GrateFULL4 great food!
- An all natural sleep aid! I am a night owl, and I stay up until all times of the morning working. I know it’s not good for me, but every since I started getting insomnia in the early 2000s, I’ve been following this unhealthy pattern until I wear myself out. My hope is that I’ll work so hard that I’ll be so exhausted my body has no choice but to fall asleep. Well, it rarely, if ever, works. So, I just lie in bed frustrated until I finally fall asleep which is usually between 1:00 am and 3:00 am. Can you say bone tired!!! Well, my boyfriend is always concerned about my lack of sleep and how late I stay up, so he did some research and found Lunar. Lunar is ALL NATURAL and NON-HABIT FORMING. It lulls you into a restful sleep and when you awaken you feel like new money! I’m so GrateFULL4 for this option because I’m not big on taking prescription drugs.
- Laughter is truly good for the soul! Laughter is truly good for the soul! I am still dealing with a bit of anxiety but not as bad as it was before starting to drink the Organic India Tulsi Tea. I’ve made it a point to find time in my day to decompress, and I’ve discovered that laughter has helped to minimize my anxiety a bit more. I find that my mind focuses on laughing instead of the tightness in my stomach, so my body relaxes. Nothing like listening to Tiffany Haddish to crack you up!
- Clarity! Sometimes it is hard to see what is right in front of you because you don’t want to see it. I have been dodging making a change in my life for some time now because I didn’t want to acknowledge that I may have been wrong. Regardless, the decision was required, but I needed to be confident that the move was for the right reasons. I took some time to myself to think things through and pray to God for His guidance. As always, He showed me what I needed to see, and He gave me the strength to do what I needed to do. I’m so GrateFULL4 that God does not leave us with confusion, but gives us answers that are concise and clear!
