GrateFULL4 – Week Ending 07/22/2017
There is something to be GrateFULL4 every moment of the day. Sometimes we have to look for it because we’ve become so accustomed to the normal that we forget to look for the smallest of the smallest blessings!
Hello, beautiful ones! I pray that you’re doing exceedingly well!
God’s grace & mercy has blessed me so greatly. I can’t help but have an attitude of gratitude for all that He’s done, all that He’s doing, and what He’s going to do! Trust me when I tell you that HE IS FAITHFUL and that He will turn give you the desires of your heart if you avail yourself of Him.
So, what is gratefulness? For me, it means to give thanks for every good, and sometimes bad, thing or experience that I have received. So often we are blessed out of the blue due to someone’s kind regard for us. Other times we’ve put some work in on the back side and never expected a blessing, but because of God’s love for us, He blesses us anyway.
We can go days, weeks & months at times taking things for granted, and will only say ‘thank you’ when we realize God saved us from something bad. I don’t want that to be me. Hence, GrateFULL4 is my way of staying ever present of the good and the bad that occurs in my life. I pray that you’ll join me weekly to not only read GrateFULL4 but also to chronicle your gratefulness in some way.
With that said, I know things can get crazy so if you missed last week’s GrateFULL 4 don’t fret; here it is for your reading pleasure :)
This week I’m GrateFULL4:
- Free range, farm fresh, local eggs! One of the best things about dating someone from the West Indies is their love for all things authentic. My boyfriend is from Barbados, and he will drive near & far to get the best local produce and meats to create tasty, nutritious meals. Well, he hit the lottery when he found Ms. Julie, owner of Faith Ridge Farm in Leonardtown, Maryland. Not only is she the sweetest person, but she has the most amazing eggs I’ve ever eaten. And, they’re so cost effective at only $3.00 per dozen. I used to be a huge fan of Eggland’s Best eggs until he cooked breakfast for me when we started dating. It floored me that Ms. Julie’s eggs were more delicious in comparison. Let’s just say that when he buys eggs for his home, he also buys some for mine. If you’re located in Southern Maryland or happen to visit the area often, I encourage you to order a few dozen eggs and see for yourself what I mean. I promise you that your taste buds and tummy will be GrateFULL!
- Fabulous reggae music at the historic Howard Theater! I’ve always loved reggae music because of its melodic and sensual sounds and the down-to-earth messages in the lyrics. Since dating my boyfriend, I’ve learned quite a bit about the music and many artists that I had no clue about such as Sizzla, Buju Banton, Gregory Issacs, Chronixx, and one of my favorites, Beres Hammond! Oh my goodness, Mr. Hammond gives one heck of a show, to say the least. I surprised by sweetie with tickets to celebrate his 50th birthday, and we had a blast! Hammond hails from Jamaica and has been singing some of the most beautiful reggae love songs for over four (4) decades! Here are two of my favorite songs by Hammond: No Disturb Sign & Love Means Never to Say That You’re Sorry! I think you’ll agree they’re songs that make you want to lie in bed with your sweetie just a bit longer and hold them tighter! Whew, chile lol! Any who, we went to see him last year and was blown away so this year we knew what to expect. However, we never imagined that he’d put on an even better show this year. Mr. Hammond and his band give a show to die for, say at least 2 hours; yes, you get your money’s worth & then some! The backup singers are incredibly talented and can dance their butts off lol. If you’ve never been to one of his shows, it is high time you put it on your list to make it happen if he visits your area. Trust me, your ears, hands, & feet will be ecstatic and GrateFULL you did!

- New friends, fun times, and blogging sisters! Some of you know that I attended my 1st blogging conference, BlogHer17, last month. While there I met some awesome bloggers that I’ve been InstaBuddies with for months. I met Oni Kitchens (in the middle), and we hit it off immediately. Oni is such a sweetheart and has an amazing creative mind. Don’t believe me? Check out her Instagram and blog to see for yourself. To top it off, she’s got a heart of gold, a gorgeous smile, and a lovely family. Not only did I get to meet this beauty, but I also met her other half, Ron. If you ever meet them, you’ll fall in love with their love for one another. Can you say relationship goals! As a result of our budding sistership, I was introduced to another beautiful soul: Claudia. So looking forward to more great times and making memories! I encourage you to follow her on Instagram and subscribe to her blog; thank me later :).
- My love’s excellent cooking! This man spoils me. He loves serving others, and one of the ways he does so is by feeding them! He genuinely enjoys cooking, and that’s what makes eating the food he so lovingly cooks even more delicious. Not to mention it is yummylicious and makes you want seconds, thirds, and more. In this picture, he’s making an authentic Bajan chicken stew with pigeon peas and loads of onions, tomatoes, peppers, spices, and rice. The moment you walk into his place you want to eat it because of the enticing smell of food cooking. It is one of the best smells ever! I’m so very GrateFULL4 a belly full of food prepared with love!
