A Fashion Statement: The 2018 Mazda3 Grand Touring!
Every chance I get to make a fashion statement makes for a good day! Going to Dallas, Texas, for the first time was not going to be any different! I mean, I was going to my very first beauty and style convention, StyleCon, so I couldn’t drive around the Big ‘D’ in a jalopy. Nope…wasn’t going to happen! However, since I wanted to experience the city while there, I was a bit concerned about traveling comfortably considering that I had no clue what was on one corner to the next and getting lost was inevitable at some point. I did know that whatever I drove it was going to have to be spacious, FAST, and FLY!
Hello, beautiful ones! I pray that you’re doing exceedingly well!
Thanks to my friends at Drive Shop & Mazda, for easing my mind! They loaned me with this beautiful pearl white 2018 Mazda3 4- Door Grand Touring for our weekend adventure, and I could not have been happier with their selection! Trust me when I tell you that Mazda met these requirements and more with this baby!
This car is the bomb! I am so in love with the sleek athletic stance that makes it look fast even when it’s standing still. Believe me when I tell you that these photos don’t come close to the experience of seeing it in person or taking it for a drive. I couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel of this sexy beast and make an even bolder fashion statement at the StyleCon event in Dallas! Can you say, grateful!!!
Making A Fashion Statement Without Saying A Word
Before I get too far ahead of myself let me just go over some things we liked about & noticed while driving the Mazda3 4-Door Grand Touring:
First of all, there was a beautiful pearl white color scheme throughout the exterior and interior giving it a stylish and sophisticated look that is normally associated with more expensive cars. Forget the limo, I could easily see myself pulling up to the ball or symphony concert in this baby as it plays well with the little black dress to make a heck of a fashion statement to onlookers.
Small cars are notoriously frustrating to get in and out of; not to mention trying to fit your luggage. When you think about it, this is almost like a good sized handbag, and you know how troublesome it is when you can’t fit all of your stuff in your bag; totally messes up your vibe. Fortunately, we had no problems here! The Mazda3 Grand Touring’s doors were large, easy to open and close, making getting in and out of the front or rear a breeze. Trust me, I’m accident prone and since my favorite beverage these days is a Starbucks extra hot Pumpkin latte, I don’t need anything to help me make a mess!
Backseat drivers, I didn’t forget you. The rear seats are comfortable, adjustable, and roomy so you can fall comfortably asleep and let the real drivers do the driving. For the rest of us, the rear seats also fold down for greater cargo capacity.
And, the trunk was plenty roomy too; we didn’t have any problems whatsoever getting our luggage in or out of the trunk. Definitely a plus!
The interior cabin looked and felt high end throughout. To top it off, the seats were surprisingly very comfortable and supportive. I must add that they do a fantastic job of hugging your body ever so nicely when speeding……oops, “going” around a corner. The controls were well laid out and easy to reach and use without getting distracted. I also appreciated the available heads-up display allowing me to stay focused on the road.
Since I’m very cold natured & sometimes a bit technology challenged, I was ecstatic that I could operate the climate controls without using the manual. They are a snap to operate and I love that it allows me to customize how hot or cold I want to be without impacting anyone else in the car.
I must say, there are more modern gadgets in this car than I can count. The two (2) that took a bit of getting used to for me was the Blind-Spot Monitoring (BSM) and the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS). I love that the BSM makes a sound to alert you that someone is in your blind spot because it is so easy to not see someone when you’re concentrating on not getting lost. The LDWS operates pretty much in the same fashion, except its job is to keep you in your lane when you move outside the lane markers without signaling. However, I wasn’t used to this technology so it was a bit overwhelming at first, but it didn’t take me long to appreciate these features!
Second, connecting to the Bluetooth was seamless, and the Navigation system intuitive to operate and accurate. Finally, parallel parking was quite easy, or at least I thought so; so far no complaints from any sidewalks!!
Ladies, I know you can relate to how frustrating it is when you jump in the car and everything – I mean everything – is out of whack. If you have ever found yourself asking, “Who the Hammond Brown Jennings messed with my seat and mirrors?”, worry no more. She’s equipped with a Memory driver’s seat that can be recalled at the touch of a button…..whoo hoo; lives & relationships have been saved!!!!
Finally, if you’re always complaining about the lack of or the size of the cup holders, you’re in luck! This baby’s got eight (8) of them with no less than 4 up front; how cool is that!!!
It was quite hard to find anything that I didn’t like about the Mazda3 Grand Touring. I’m far from ordinary when it comes to my attire and I have that same mindset when choosing a vehicle. With so many bells & whistles, I am ecstatic that it matched my personal style – chic, classy, spicy – and makes a fashion statement simultaneously.
Sadly, I can’t say that my boyfriend didn’t have any beef. He complained about his vision being impeded by the door pillar and the lack of visibility when he looked over his left shoulder to back up. Second, he felt that the ride felt choppy at times and emitted more cabin noise than desired.
The Mazda3 Grand Touring was an absolute joy to drive and surprisingly quick and responsive. It was beautiful to look at and I enjoyed the fashion statement it made when behind the wheel! I never considered owning one in the past but I am open to the idea in the future. I mean, look at it; it’s gorgeous just like me!
