And the Winner is…the Maxi Dress!
Hello beautiful ones! I pray that you’re doing exceedingly well!
YAY…summer is finally here and this big kid is so darn excited about it! Not only does it mean I get to eat some jaw dropping delicious barbeque on the grill & spend time basking in God’s beauty at the beach, but it also means it’s maxi dress time. Yeah, we can get away with wearing maxi dresses during the Fall and Spring with a light jacket or cardigan, but it’s something different about wearing a maxi dress in the summer. In the summer, we get to wear them in all their beautiful, flowy, light, soft, romantic, glory which in turn makes us feel – you guessed it – beautiful, flowy, light, soft, & romantic. That’s another thing I love about the summer: it’s the time of year where women are fully walking in their femininity, some knowingly and others unknowingly. Regardless of how it happens, it’s a beautiful thing!
Summer is a great time to experiment with dressing more feminine. Here for a few tips to help: http://bit.ly/2rVuw56.
I also love that maxi dresses can easily be dressed up or down. They easily go from the office to happy hour to the movies to the beach to the wedding. Talk about versatility! I dressed this gorgeous maxi dress up by pairing it with peep toe block heels, adding some dainty rose gold accessories, amped up the ante with a gold vegan fringe bag, and pulled my hair up in a bun. I could have easily dressed it down with a cute pair of sandals or Chuck Taylors, dialed back the accessories a bit, and added a crossbody bag.
Maxi dresses can worn to work, happy hour, weddings, brunch, & more! Your style options are limited only by our imagination!
Another great thing about maxi dresses is that they’re not just for casual outings. You can wear one to work if done right. I suggest pairing a maxi dress with a structured blazer or a lightweight cardigan and pumps if the work environment is super professional. If you work in a business casual work environment you can pair it a lightweight denim jacket & wedges or block heels. It should go without saying, but I’m going to say it: stay away from floor-sweeping hemlines, plunging necklines, revealing backs, slits, etc. if you’re considering wearing a maxi dress to work.
Maxi dresses are acceptable for the office when the right style, length, shoes & accessories are chosen. Think modest, classy, fashionable.
In a nutshell, maxi dresses are timeless, super flattering on all body types & the epitome of comfort and effortless style. Yep…the maxi dress is definitely a winner in my closet!
